About us

GHEtool was founded during the master thesis of Wouter Peere at the KU Leuven (The SySi Team), and further developed in the research period of Wouter at KU Leuven, in close collaboration with Boydens Engineering. With the support of Boydens Engineering (part of Sweco) and FH Aachen the open-source code was released in 2021. 

Our mission

With GHEtool, we want to democratize the energy transition by providing access to the technology necessary to expedite geothermal development and facilitate the feasibility of geothermal solutions.

To further increase the feasibility of geothermal solutions, we have launched our professional version of GHEtool which supports drilling companies, engineering firms, architects, government organizations with automated reporting and online courses … With our insightful software they can minimize the environmental and societal impact while maximizing the cost-effective utilization of geothermal projects.

The open-source and professional versions are communicating vessels. With the feedback from the academic community, we can improve the professional version and with the input from the workfield, we can better the community version as well.
